Our Story

Change Begins With Villages

Rain Drop was born from real field experience and a deep understanding of rural hardship in drought prone regions. The organisation works with communities where water scarcity affects farming, livestock, income, health, and everyday family decisions. Its work brings together water conservation, tree plantation, women’s livelihood support, animal husbandry, organic farming awareness, and environmental education for children. Rain Drop believes that rural development becomes meaningful when people participate in their own progress. Every activity is shaped with patience, local knowledge, and respect for the lives of families who continue to struggle quietly.

Rain Drop helps villages restore damaged land, protect water sources, improve soil health, and promote nature friendly farming through community participation and practical field work.
Purpose Driven

Change Begins From Ground

Rain Drop works closely with rural communities facing water scarcity, environmental challenges, unstable livelihoods, and changing climate conditions. Every effort grows through local participation, practical solutions, and long term community wellbeing.

Tree Plantation And Water Conservation

Many villages across Marathwada continue facing drought, soil erosion, and shrinking water resources that affect farming and daily life. Through plantation drives, watershed activities, rainwater conservation, and restoration of local water structures, Rain Drop works with communities to rebuild ecological balance and protect natural resources for future generations.

Livelihood Empowerment For Rural Communities

Rural livelihoods often depend on uncertain farming conditions and limited income opportunities. Rain Drop supports women, farmers, and local families through Self Help Groups, organic farming awareness, animal based livelihoods, skill development, and small enterprise support that strengthen dignity, confidence, and financial stability within communities.

Your Support

Together We Restore Hope

Rural change needs people who believe in patient work, honest action, and long term responsibility. Rain Drop invites donors, volunteers, partners, and well wishers to stand with communities working to protect water, grow trees, strengthen livelihoods, care for animals, support farmers, and teach children the value of nature. A single contribution can help a sapling survive, a woman begin an income activity, a farmer learn sustainable practices, a village conserve water, or a child grow with environmental responsibility. When support reaches the ground with care, it becomes more than help. It becomes hope that villages can carry forward.
Community Words

Voices Of Shared Trust

Nature protection has always been close to my heart. Through Rain Drop, I see communities slowly reconnecting with trees, water, soil, and local responsibility. When people care for their surroundings together, the future of the village becomes stronger.

Women carry many responsibilities inside rural homes, yet their strength often remains unseen. Through livelihood work, Self Help Groups, and small income activities, I have seen women gain confidence, speak with courage.

Questions That Build Trust

Rain Drop works with rural communities through water conservation, tree plantation, livelihood development, animal husbandry, organic farming awareness, and environmental education. The organisation focuses on practical activities that respond to real village challenges such as water scarcity, unstable income, soil degradation, livestock care needs, and limited environmental awareness among children.
Rain Drop is based in Shyam Nagar, Latur, Maharashtra, and focuses on Latur district and surrounding drought prone regions of Marathwada. The work is shaped around local rural conditions where families face water stress, farming uncertainty, livelihood pressure, and environmental changes that affect daily life.
Rain Drop was founded by Ashok Shesherao Sarwade in 2014 after years of grassroots experience in rural development. His work in Bundelkhand across health, water, and livelihood initiatives helped shape the organisation’s practical approach for communities in the Marathwada region.
Rain Drop supports water conservation through activities such as farm ponds, contour trenches, check dam repair, rainwater harvesting awareness, watershed development, and restoration of village water sources. The aim is to help communities conserve rainwater, improve groundwater recharge, and protect farmland during dry periods.
In drought prone areas, tree plantation supports soil protection, moisture retention, local biodiversity, and long term ecological balance. Rain Drop encourages native tree plantation and community based sapling care so trees planted today can continue supporting people, animals, and land in the coming years.
